Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden

FROM HERE TO ETERNITY
From here to eternity
God is with thee.
From here to eternity
His way you will see.

From here to eternity
Heaven starts here.
From here to eternity
You know God is near.

From here to eternity
God leads the way.
From here to eternity
He hears when you pray.

From here to eternity
His promises are sure.
From here to eternity
He whispers, "endure."

From her to eternity
What ere be the tide.
From here to eternity
With you, He'll abide!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is my mom and dad, on their 50th Anniversary.
Dad is holding Russell our middle grandson. Now Russell
has a son of his own!
The name of today's poem is also the name of an old hymn, one
of my mom's favorites.

BE WITH ME, LORD
Be with me, Lord...
Through the lonely night.
Be with me, Lord...
When I am filled with fright.

Be with me, Lord...
When the skies are gray.
Be with me, Lord...
Through the live long day

Be with me, Lord...
When I am filled with pain.
Be with me, Lord...
Let me know You reign.

Be with me, Lord...
When I experience loss.
Be with me, Lord...
Lead me to the cross!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is Dominic, our church secretary's son.

A CHILD'S WORLD
A child's world...
Is a lot of fun.
A child's world...
Is a winning one.

A child's world...
Is discovery each day.
A child's world...
Is filled with play.

A child's world...
Is learning new things.
A child's world...
Blessings it brings.

A child's world...
An exciting place to be.
A child's world...
We visit in memory!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
Way back Wednesday:
This is Jim, with our granddaughter, Katie, sitting on the trunk that
Jim made for her. She graduates from High School The 24th of June.

"My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in a secret place."
Psalm 139:15

YOU
You...
Were made in a secret place.
You....
God knows your face.

You...
Are not just happenstance.
You...
God knew in advance.

You...
God has numbered each hair.
You...
God hears every prayer.

You...
Jesus thought of on the cross.
You...
He thought was worth the cost!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light
to my path. Psalm 119:105

THE BIBLE
The Bible...
Best selling book.
The Bible...
Take another look!

The Bible...
History, literature and poetry.
The Bible...
Can make a change in you and me.

The Bible...
Inspired by God above.
The Bible...
Filled with stories of love.

The Bible...
A light to light each day.
The Bible...
Will help us find our way!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

WHAT DO YOU SEE?
What do you see,
When you go for a walk?
Do you see the beauty,
or just do some self-talk?

What do you see,
When at the world, you gaze?
Do you see lost people,
Or just fun-filled days.

What do you see,
When you look at the cross?
Do you see a Savior,
That paid a great cost?

What do you see,
In the mirror each day?
Do you see one...
Whose sins are washed away?

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden:
This is a picture of mom, dad and me. When our middle
grandson, Russell was small, he looked at this picture and
asked "Who is that? I said It's granny, pepaw and me." He
said, "I didn't know you knew granny and pepaw when you
where little." I answered Russell, "Didn't you know that they
are my mom and dad?" He said, "no!"

YESTERDAY
Yesterday....
Is gone and in it's place
Is a brand new day,
That I must face.

Yesterday...
Is behind, with every mistake.
But today is...
Is just whatever I make.

Yesterday...
I look back with some regret.
And what today brings
I've not found out yet.

Yesterday...
I hope I learned from you
I know God was there
To see me through.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
Each generation have their own set of "uncertain times"
I was born during the depression and times were certainly
uncertain then!

UNCERTAIN TIMES
Uncertain times...
Are here, my friend.
In uncertain times...
On God you can depend.

Uncertain times...
Makes us anxious and grim.
In uncertain times...
We need to follow Him.

In uncertain times...
We fail to find peace.
In uncertain times...
In God find release.

Uncertain times...
Have always been around.
In uncertain times...
God can be found!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
Another ER poem:

HE CALLS THE STARS BY NAME
He calls the stars by name,
Counts each grain of sand.
He orders the seasons of the year
And knows each line upon my hand.

He calls the stars by name,
Sees each sparrow that does fall.
The waves stop at His command,
The winds calm at His call.

He calls the stars by name,
He clothes the fields with flowers.
He gives us blessings every day,
And sends refreshing showers.

He calls the stars by name,
He puts each snowflake to bed.
He feeds the birds of the air,
Counts each hair upon my head.

He calls the stars by name,
He knit me in a secret place.
He controls the universe,
Yet guides each of us with grace!

And that my friends is our awesome God!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is me and my good friend Marie DePoto. Marie is
suffering memory loss now, but the last time I saw her,
she was still smiling!
This is another poem I wrote in ER. One I think I need today.

SMILE
Smile...
When things go wrong.
Smile...
When the day is long.

Smile...
When you're sad.
Smile ...
When the world seems mad.

Smile...
When others are rude.
Smile...
It will change their attitude.

Smile...
It is catching, you see.
Smile...
And others will smile back at thee.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
That's me... Mrs. Pumpkin, on "Pumpkin Day," a fall
party for the children's department at church, a few
years ago.

JUST AS I AM
Just as I am...
He loves me still.
Just as I am...
Each feeble skill.

Just as I am...
With all my sin.
Just as I am...
He lets me in.

Just as I am...
Unworthy me.
Just as I am...
He sets me free.

Just as I am...
Each gain or loss.
Just as I am...
Hidden by the cross.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
Another ER poem.

ROCK-SOLID
Rock-solid...
Be your faith.
Rock-solid...
Is God's grace.

Rock solid...
Is God's love for you.
Rock-solid...
Should be your love too.

Rock-solid...
Salvation full and free.
Rock-solid....
Your hope should be.

Rock-solid...
Is God's wonderful plan.
Rock-solid...
His welcome into the promise-land!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden
This is Jim and I on a visit to Janet and Richard's in Rhode Island.
I wrote this when I had Jim in ER yesterday.

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON
Keep calm and carry on,
Think good thoughts each day.
Keep calm and carry on,
When trials come your way.

Keep calm and carry on,
When things looks so gray.
Keep clam and carry on,
God will be your stay.

Keep calm and carry on.
When the nights are long.
Keep calm and carry on
To your Savior you belong.

Keep calm and carry on,
God will set the pace.
Keep calm and carry on,
God will give you grace.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is the place where I worked in the food lab at
Kraft Foods. I'm on the far right, looking in a microscope
testing a product.

TESTING
Testing the water,
Before you plunge in.
Testing the weather,
Before you begin.

Testing the truth,
Of what others tell you.
Testing each rumor,
Does it hold true?

Testing your cooking,
Is it what it should be?
Testing the Scriptures,
The truth will set you free.

Testing your faith,
Do you walk in His way?
Testing your values,
As we travel each day!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
"Unless you change and become like little children you
shall never enter the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:3

LET GO TO FIND GOD
Let go to find God,
Let go of the past.
Let go to find God,
For a peace that will last.

Let go to find God,
Give Him control.
Let go to find God,
He'll bring rest to your soul.

Let go to find God,
Talk to Him each day.
Let go to find God,
He'll show you the way.

Let go to find God,
Leave your worries at His feet.
Let go to find God,
He'll make life complete!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
I may not be "Mother of Israel" as Debra was or
"Mother of America," as Martha Washington was,
but I'm "reverend mother" to this clan! And I know
I'm "Partners With God" as I pray for each on
every day  and the two that has been added since the
picture was taken,

MOTHERS ARE PARTNERS WITH GOD
Mothers are partners with God,
His arms to hold them tight.
His voice to sing softly,
His lips to kiss goodnight!

His tears to share your sorrow,
His hands to dry your tears,
His feet to walk beside you,
Through the growing years.

His back to always labor,
For the things you need.
Between God and mothers,
Is this unspoken creed...

Of patience and forgiveness,
Sacrifice and love...
Yes, mothers are willing partners,
With our God above!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
Next Sunday is Mother's Day and all week I'll be focusing
on poems that honor mothers and grandmothers. This is
our  granddaughter-in-law with Janet and Richard's first grand son.
Camden James Walker, named for his great grandpa-Jim.

A NEW MOTHER
A new mother...
Is always in awe and surprise.
A new mother...
Thinks her Child takes the prize.

A new mother...
Has a heart filled with love.
A new mother..
Prays for guidance from above.

A new mother...
Discovers new things each day.
A new mother
Loves to watch her child at play.

A new mother...
Is special, you see.
A new mother...
Molds the next generation to be.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This flower is from my garden. It is from a cactus plant. They always bloom
in May. If God can make something this beautiful from a prickly plant, He
can make something beautiful from your life as well.

WHAT GOD WANTS FOR YOUR LIFE
What God wants for your life,
Is less strife and more peace.
What God wants for your life,
Your fears all to release.

What God wants for you life,
Is your full confidence.
What God wants for your life,
To depend on His providence.

What God wants for your life.
Is loving, joyful heart.
What God wants for your life,
A trust that will not depart.

What God wants for your life,
Is salvation, full and free.
What God wants for your life.
He whispers, "Come follow Me!"

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is our son, John with Jim. When I think of "Keep Going,"
I have to think of Jim. He is in almost constant pain from arthritis
and has lost most of his sight to macular degeneration, but he keeps
reading, reads the Bible through each year and keeps going, hardly
ever misses church!

KEEP GOING
Keep going...
When you feel like giving up.
Keep going...
When life's so very tough.

Keep going...
Smile, when you want to cry.
Keep going...
When you feel life has passed you by.

Keep going...
Through all the pain-filled days.
Keep going...
When all things seem a haze,

Keep going...
Happiness will come, my friend.
Keep going...
For this life is not the END!

Freda's Garden

Welcome to my Garden!
This is me before I met Jim. God does not only know us best,
He knows what's best for us... I have no doubt that God's hand
was on me when I picked Jim for a life-long mate!

GOD KNOWS US BEST
God knows us best...
He created us, you see.
God knows us best...
For all eternity.

God knows us best...
Knows when we're feeling blue.
God knows us best...
He whisper, "I'm here for you."

God knows us best...
Knows our every secret sin.
God knows us best...
Yet is forever our Friend.

God knows us best ...
When we offer a prayer in haste.
God knows us best...
He has unending patience and grace!
