Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden:

Today's poem was taken from...Our Daily Bread.

ON OUR HEARTS, LORD

On our hearts, Lord

Are challenges of the day

Fear of this virus

That won't go away.

On our hearts, Lord

Is this country, we hold dear

Help us to know

You'll always be near.

On our hearts, Lord

Are those with pain and sorrow

Give them bright hope

For a better tomorrow.

On our hearts, Lord

Is a world that is lost

We pray, they will see Jesus

And that old rugged cross!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.

Today's poem was taken from Today's "Beside The Still Waters"

BE CAREFUL OF YOUR WORDS.

Be careful of your words

And what they imply

Know they can't be unsaid

And may make someone cry.

Be careful of your words

And even if they're true

If they are unkind.

They will only bring down you.

Be careful of your words

Make them soft and sweet.

For so many times

Our words we have to eat,

Be careful of your words

For mud-slinging, here's a clue

You cannot sling it at someone else

Without getting a some on you!

And He wants you to know

He will never let you down.

Your Provider

May not fulfill your wish indeed

You can always know

He'll give what you need.

Your Provider

Gives more than bread for life

He feeds you inter being

With peace from all strife.

Freda's Garden:

Today's poem: "A Parade Of Colors"

A PARADE OF COLORS

A parade of colors

God gives  you  and me

Each season is painted

With His paint brush, you see.

Spring, with flowers blooming

All pink and white

And suddenly all awakening

What a beautiful sight.

Summer is buzzing

With red white and blue

Watermelon red

And skies so heavenly too.

Fall, I love the best

Trees with pretty leaves falling

All getting ready

For winter's long rest.

Winter, all covered with snow

So silent and white

All nature is resting

A long winter's night!

Freda's Garden

Today's poem was taken from today's Every Day In His Presence.

PEACE BEYOND CIRCUMSTANCES.

Peace Beyond circumstances

Can it really be?

And He whispers softly...

Come follow Me.

Peace beyond circumstances

I have lost so much I cried.

God said I care so much

And each tear I've dried.

Peace beyond circumstances

 Lord, I am in pain.

I know My child,  He said,

Heaven will be your gain.

Peace beyond circumstances

Father, I have so much that worries me!

I created this world, He answered,

And I can take care of thee.

IN CLOSENESS TO  ME

In closeness to Me

You are safe, you see.

I will protect you

And set you free.

In closeness to Me

You will find peace

And from worries and fear

You'll find release.

In closeness to Me

I will fill your empty heart

With my Holy Presence

That shall never depart.

In closeness to Me

We will walk through this land

And through each of life's storms

I will hold on to your hand.

Freda's Garden:

 Welcome to my Garden:

CHANGE OF ADDRESS

You will not find me on  Cambridge street

Today my move has been complete.

Yes, I had a change of address today.

I now live beyond the milky-way.

I may have moved, but I'm still near

In the things that I hold dear.

In the face of a foster child

You will see me when they smile.

Hats for kiddies and pillows too,

Blankies with notes that say, "i love you"

Please don't let my leaving get you down

I have exchanged my cross for a brand new crown.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden:

Today. I thought in all my readings, there is nothing new to inspire me

to write a poem,  so that is what this poem is about!

WHEN NOTHING INSPIRES YOU

When nothing inspires you

Look to your God

And remember the blessings

On the path that you trod.

When nothing Inspires you

Listen to a bird's sweet song

It will help you to know

That you too belong.

When nothing inspires you

See the stars shine at night

Know that God has a plan

And your future is bright.

When nothing inspires you

To the cross, turn once again

Come to know Jesus' Victory

Over satan and sin!

FIX YOUR EYES UPON JESUS

Fix your eyes upon Jesus

Make Him your life's goal.

Fix your eyes upon Jesus

You will have blessings untold.

Fix your eyes upon Jesus

The world will soon fade away.

Fix your eyes upon Jesus

He will guide you today.

Fix your eyes upon Jesus

Through storms of life, you see.

Fix your eyes upon Jesus

For He died on the cross for thee.

Fix your eyes upon Jesus

And what He wants you to be

Fix your eyes upon Jesus

For He has won the victory!

GOD'S MERCY AT WORK

God's mercy at work
When you forgive others.
God's mercy at work
When you love sisters and brothers.

God's mercy at work
When someone hurts you,
God's mercy at work
When you don't feel repayment is due.

God's mercy at work
When you suffer a loss,
God's mercy at work
When you look at the cross.

God's mercy at work

TOUCH THE NEEDY

Touch the needy
With God's tender care.
Help them to know
That He was always there.

Touch the needy
We are God's hands you see,
He touches others
Through you and me.

Touch the needy
With food for body and the soul
With shelter from the storms
A place to get out of the cold.

Touch the needy
With words of hope,
It is only then
That they can cope.

Touch the needy
With words of comfort and love
Teach them to see
All of God's blessings from above!

HOPE IS....

Hope is...
A golden cord
That will connect us
To our Lord.

Hope is...
A voice that says, "on you go!"
While the world to you
Is shouting "no"

Hope is...
An anchor in trials
It will be with you
Over the miles.

Hope is...
A promise from God
That He'll walk with you
Wherever you must trod.

Hope is...
All of theses things
And we wait in faith

SELY-PITY

Self-pity
A slimy, pit of despair
It is easy to fall-in
But hard to get out of there.

You'll find it hard to get out
The road leads to a dead-end.

Self-pity
Your hope is my everlasting light
Just keep your focus on me
If you want out of your plight.

Self-pity
You can leave it behind, you see
I can reach you in your pit
And bring you along side of Me

Self-pity
My hand is always there
When you learn to lean on me
You'll see that I really care.

Freda's Garden:

welcome to my Garden:
Today is D Day, not much said about it! Many
are too young to remember it. But we are free today  largely
because of that DAY, where 4, 000 men lost their lives and many
more were missing. 50 years later, men who survived that invasion, cried
when they recalled the loss of their brother's in arms. I am reading through
the OT, and we are like the Israelites, we forget so easy!

D DAY

D Day
"D" stands for day four thousand lost their lives
So many were  just kids
That were hoping to survive.

D Day
They stormed the very gates of hell
Knowing full well
Some would surely die
But on this they could not dwell.

D Day
An important day, you see
Almost forgotten
No appreciation that we're free.

D Day
I have seen old men cry
Who were there that day
And saw their comrades die.

D Day
You and live free
Mostly, because of this day,
Let us keep it in memory!

Welcome to my Garden:
These are some of my thoughts about what is going on in our country today.
When a tragedy happens it seems much easier for some to react
with... hate-lies-fear-and violence, playing right into the hands of the evil one.

HATE-LIES-FEAR-VIOLENCE

HATE
Is so much easier to spread, you see.
LOVE
Requires a sacrifice from you and me.

LIES
Are easier to believe
TRUTH
Is harder to achieve!

FEAR
Comes so easy to our hearts.
PEACE
Will come only when fear departs.

VIOLENCE
Is  ungodly acts
UNDRESTANDING
Comes only when we have the facts.

UNITY
Comes when we can differ in love.
TOGETHER
We can conquer the above!

Today's poem was taken from (Our Daily Bread)
This is my dear friend ,Elizabeth Wakeham. She was such an encourager.
And would it not be nice, if people could say that about us
when we leave for our heavenly home?

THE BLESSINGS OF ENCOURAGERS

The blessings of  encouragers
Those that always smile.
The blessings of encouragers
That will go that extra mile.

The blessings of encouragers
With their cheerful attitudes
The blessings of  encouragers
That live the beatitudes.

The blessings of encouragers
The way they see after you.
The blessings of encouragers
That keep you from feeling blue.

The blessings of encourager
You know, for you, they pray.
The blessings of encouragers
Angels God has sent your way!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF MOTHER'S DAY

A different kind of Mother's Day
No church service to honor mothers
No greetings and hugs
From sisters and brothers.

A different kind of Mother's Day
No Sunday dinner or fun
Just call-in curb service
And dinner for one.

A different kind of Mother's Day
Thank God for  technology of Zoom
I can have a virtual visit
From my  computer room.

A different kind of Mother's Day
The first  I've spent all alone, you see
But I'm not really alone....
God's always here with me!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.
Welcome to my Garden.
Today's poem was taken from today's Jesus Calling.

BEGIN EACH DAY

Begin each day
With a prayer.
Begin each day
With a quiet hour.

Begin each day
With dependence on Me
Begin each day
Being worry free.

Begin each day
Lay your problems at my feet
Begin each day
Forgetting yesterday's defeat.

Begin each day
With thanksgiving.
Begin each day
With joyful living!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.
Today's poem was taken from today's Every Day In His Presence

A  FRESH OUTLOOK

A fresh outlook
Is what we need today.
A fresh outlook
To chase the blues away.

A fresh outlook
No matter what we face today.
A fresh outlook
Is ours when we pray.

A fresh outlook
With the problems that we face.
A fresh outlook
When we approach the throne of grace.

A fresh outlook
We WILL get this, you and me.
A fresh outlook
For God's in control, you see!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.
You certainly get a heightened perspective from the window of a plane.

HEIGHTEN YOUR PESPECTIVE

Heighten your perspective
Don't sleep walk through life
Keep your eyes open
I will calm your strife.

Heighten your perspective
Believe my promises are true
As you walk this valley
I will walk with you.

Heighten your perspective
For the problems of today
Strengthen your faith
And they will  melt away.

Heighten your prespective
In troubled times, you see
There will be peace in the valley
Foe my presence walks with thee!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.
I have been reading the Psalm of David, as he was fleeing from his enemies.
This a quote from yesterday's reading.
"Be my rock and refuge where I can always go"
Psalm 71:3

UNSEEN ENEMY

Father, we are fleeing
From an unseen enemy
A tiny little virus
That we cannot see.

Help us rely on the promises
That You have made
Keep our focus on You
Help us to be unafraid.

Father, in this isolation
That's so foreign to our souls
Guide us all gently
As each day unfolds.

Father, this tiny enemy
Seems to have power untold
But please help yes to remember
That you are still in CONTROL!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.

MY MAGIC CARPET

My magic carpet
Is my imagination, you see
It can transport me
To palaces so very lovely.

I can read a book
About places far away
And I can be there too
On this ordinary day.

I can take my paint brush,
Paint the mountains of Tennessee
Where I have loved ones
That I would like to see.

I can go on a paint safari
With my paint brush too
And I can paint the animals
That are not in a zoo..

As I read the Psalm
I'm transported to Israel again
I can walk the streets of David
Who God called His friend.

Get on your magic carpet
Came with me away
And let your imagination
Transport you today!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.
Today's poem was taken from the "Jesus Calling" I posted today.

DON'T BE ARAID.

Don't be afraid
Trust in my plan.
Don't be afraid
Take hold of My hand.

Don't be afraid
When you feel out of control.
Don't be afraid
I'm the keeper of your soul.

Don't be afraid
When your routine must change
Don't be afraid
Remember that I still reign

Don't be afraid
Of challenges new to you
Don't be afraid
My promises are true!

Fred'a Garden:

Welcome p my Garden.
I was thanking about the song, "God Will Take Care Of You," when
I wrote this poem:.

GOD WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU

God will take care of you
In every day.
God will take care of you
In every way.

God will take care of you
In sickness or health.
God will take care of you
in scarcity or wealth..

God will take care of you
In all your fear and anxiety.
God will take care of you
In a quarantine  society.

God will take care of you
He proved it on the cross, you see
God will take care of you
And He will take care of me!
