Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

WHAT A GOD
What a God...
We serve each day.
What a God...
Who helps us on our way.

What a God...
So filled with love.
What a God...
Who guides us from above.

What a God...
So full of power.
What a God...
Who meets us in prayer.

What a God...
The very, blessed One.
What a God...
He sacrificed His only Son!

Freda's Garden:

 Welcome to my Garden!

WHETHER MORNING,  NOON OR NIGHT

Whether morning
Noon or night,
God will make
All things right.

Whether morning,
Noon or night,
God comforts us
In times of fright.

Whether morning,
Noon or night,
Walk by faith
And not by sight.

Whether morning,
Noon or night,
When you walk with God,
You walk in the light!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

GRACIOUS LIPS
Dear Lord, gracious lips,
I do seek...
Help me to think, before I speak.

Dear Lord, give me gracious lips.
So I may praise...
Those whose spirits,
I need to raise.

Dear Lord, gracious lips,
That will not be...
Opened to gossip,
Is my plea.

Dear Lord, gracious lips,
To You I praise...
A glorious  anthem,
I shall raise!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

NOW THAT I'M OLD
Now that I'm old...
Keep me from repeating each line
Now that I'm old...
Let my aches and pains,
To myself, be thine.

Now that I'm old...
I've learned so very much,
But you know Lord,
I want my friends to keep in touch.

Do keep me from giving
Unwanted advice...
And getting to the point,
Would be very nice.

Now that I'm old,
May I not be set in my ways,
But experience new adventures,
For my remaining days!

Welcome to my Garden!

MY COMFORTER
My Comforter...
And Shepherd of peace.
My Comforter...
Whose love will not cease.

My Comforter...
Refuge in strife.
My Comforter...
Who gives eternal life.

My Comforter...
Who sees every tear
My Comforter...
Who wants to be near.

My Comforter...
My shield and my stay.
My Comforter...
Who guides me each day!

Resolve...
To do His will.

Peace be still.

Resolve...
Your faith to stand.
Resolve...
To say, "I can."

Resolve...
To enjoy each day.

Come what may.

Resolve...
To thank God, for blessings dear.
Resolve...
To feel His presence near!

JESUS, MY LORD
Jesus, my Lord,
Is with me each day.
Jesus, my Lord,
Leads all the way.

Jesus, my Lord,
All through the night.
Jesus, my Lord,
Makes everything right.

Jesus, my Lord,
Picks me up when I fall.
Jesus, my Lord,
My all in all.

Jesus, my Lord,
Sees all my pain.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

LOVE WILL FIND A WAY
Love will find a way,
In each and every heart.
Love will find a way
And never from you part.

Love will find a way,
Through the darkest gloom.
Love will find a way,
To blossom and to bloom.

Love will find a way,
Through a flood of hate.
Love will find a way
And it never is too late.

Love will find a way
And dry up each tear.
Love will find a way
And will forever endure!

Welcome to my Garden!

IN QUIETUDE
In quietude...
Meet God in prayer.
In quietude...
A special spot somewhere.

In quietude...
Thank God for everything.
In quietude...
His praises sing.

In quietude...
His Holy Word to read.
In quietude...
Pray for those in need.

In quietude...
Know that He is there.
He will always hear you
In quietude and prayer!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

CREATION IS FILLED WITH SIGNS
Creation is filled with signs,
Night follows day,
Only a Creator's hands,
Could change seasons in their way.

Creation is filled with signs,
That will fill your heart and soul
With its natural beauty,
That is glorious to behold.

Creation is filled with signs
And all nature indeed doth praise
The Heavenly Creator,
Their majestic anthems raise.

Creation is filled with signs,
The moon and stars that shine
And tell you that this world
Is here by intelligent design!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

WE NEVER WALK ALONE
We never walk alone,
Though we may not see,
That God is always there,
Guiding us eternally.

We never walk alone,
Through the valley dim,
For God is beside us,
So we can put our trust in Him.

We never walk alone,
Though the path may seem steep,
Just look about for Jesus,
His promise, He will keep.

We never walk alone,
And when it is our time to die,
God will usher us each home,
To those mansions in the sky!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

DON'T TRY TO DO WHAT ONLY GOD CAN DO
Don't try to do,
What only God can do,
For only God...
Can save you.

Don't try to do,
God's work, you see,
He has a plan...
For you and for me.

Do try to walk,
Before you try to run,
God wants you...
To hold on to His only Son.

Don't try to help,
God answer your prayer,
For He alone...
Has divine power!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

GOD LOVES, EVEN ME
God loves, even me,
With all my flaws of sin.
God loves, even me,
For He has cleansed me within.

God loves, even me,
When I disappoint Him so,
He will never disappoint me,
This I surely know.

God loves, even me,
With my foolish thoughts and ways.
He is so very faithful
And will be with me all my days.

God loves, even me,
With each doubt and fear.
He even enjoys my company
And wants me to be near.

If you want a someone in your corner,
I'll tell you what to do,
Just seek God out...
And He will love, even you!

Welcome to my Garden!

GOD WILL HOLD YOUR HAND
God will hold your hand,
When you can't stand alone.
God will hold your hand
And your sins He will atone.

God will hold your hand,
When your pathway is steep.
God will hold your hand,
At night when you can't sleep.

God will hold your hand,
When other's seem to flee.
God will hold your hand.
For He loves you, you see.

God will hold your hand,
When you must say, "goodbye."
He will whisper, "I understand,
For I gave My Son to die!"

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

HE WHISPERS, "PEACE"
He whispers," peace,"
Amidst the trials and strife.
He whispers, "peace,"
When there is turmoil in my life.

He whispers, "peace,"
When storms are raging round.
He whispers, "peace,"
When my feet are on rocky ground.

He whispers, "peace,"
When my path I cannot see.
He whispers, "peace,
I am still with thee."

He whispers, "peace,
My peace I will unfold,
For I calmed the sea
And I will calm your soul!"

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

PICTURES OF GRACE
Pictures of grace
Christ on the cross,
Dying for a world,
Ungrateful and lost.

Pictures of grace,
In a foxhole for me,
A solider, dying so young,
That I might live free.

Pictures of grace,
A child give his lunch to a friend,
Living in hope,
That all hunger will end.

Pictures of grace,
A fireman entering a flame,
To save someone's life,
With no thought of fame.

Pictures of grace,
We encounter each day,
Grace, first from God,
To show us the way!

Welcome to my Garden!

I TOOK YOUR PLACE
"I took your place,"
Jesus whispers to me.
"I went to the cross,
Because of my love for thee.

I took your place,
I shouldered your sin.
I suffered humiliation and pain,
A victory to win.

I took your place,
With the accuser, you see,
His accusations
Were shielded by Me.

I took your place.
With the sorrow and loss,
It was for you...
I went to the cross!"

Welcome to my Garden!

A fall day in Arkansas.

FAREWELL TO SUMMER
Farewell to summer,
When there is a nip in the air.
Farewell to summer,
When leaves are turning everywhere.

Farewell to summer,
When the geese fly away,
Farewell to summer,
When the frost is on the hay.

Farewell to summer,
When the pumpkins grow big and round.
Farewell to summer,
When trick or treaters come to town.

Farewell to summer,
When apples turn rosy, red.
Farewell to summer,
When you add an extra blanket to the bed.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

TELL THE STORY
Tell the story...
Of a Savior's love.
How He left His home in glory
And His Father up above.

How He came to earth,
To show us a better way,
Came as a new, born baby,
Born in a manger filled with hay.

How He grew to manhood,
As a loving Son;
He knew He had a destiny
And there was work to be done.

As He began His ministry,
Calling, "Come follow Me!"
He knew that His message
Would make some, His enemy.

He stood before His accusers,
Who were so very blind,
And He went to the cross,
With you and I in mind!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
WHERE IS GOD?
Where is God?
You hear so many say.
Why did He not heal my loved one?
Where is He anyway?

Where is God?
My pain is so intense.
Why should I feel this way,
To me, it makes no sense?

Where is God,
When I feel so alone each night?
My tears fall like rain,
And no one cares for my plight.

Where is God,
When by the grave I stand?
Saying goodbye to a loved one,
Was not in my plan.

Where is God?
He whispers, "I'm right here,
I've numbered each hair on your head,
I see each fallen tear.

Where was I?
I was at the cross, you see,
Freely giving up my Son,
So I could set you free!"

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

HE KNOWS THE WAY I TAKE
He knows the way I take,
Through the valley low.
He knows the way I take,
For He goes the where I go.

He knows the way I take,
Over mountains steep and high.
He knows the way I take,
For He is always nigh.

He knows the way I take,
Over stormed-toss sea.
He knows the way I take,
For He walks the way with me.

He knows the way I take,
He knows my heart, you see.
He knows my very soul,
For He lives in me!

"He knows the way I take."

Welcome to my Garden!
We can hear God's voice in the forces of nature;
the roar of a waterfall the gentle rain on the rooftop
or the silence of a falling snowflake.

IS HE CALLING YOU?
Is He calling you?
Can you hear His voice?
Heed the call today,
You, He gave a choice.

Is He calling you?
Do you feel His touch today?
Answer His urgent call,
It is the only way.

Is He calling you,
From a life of sin?
Answer that call today,
He will cleanse you within.

Is He calling you,
To live a life of peace
And know the answer,
Of the sweet release?

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is my mom and dad and I. I was about 8
Yesterday would have been my Grandpa Johnson's birthday.
Today would have been my mom and dad's anniversary, with
these old pictures and memories of these dates, I've been living
in the past too much, hence today's poem.

YESTERDAY
Yesterday has passed...
With its success and each mistake .
Yesterday has passed....
Today will be just what I make.

Yesterday has passed...
The words can't be unsaid.
Yesterday has passed...
And the tears in vain, I shed.

Yesterday has passed...
I cannot live it again,
I'll look toward tomorrow
And make change my friend.

When I reach tomorrow,
It will be today...
And I will live each moment,
As I go along the way!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is my Grandpa and Grandma Johnson.
Today would have been his birthday. He was
the gentlest man I ever knew.

I REMEMBER GRANDPA
I remember grandpa,
A sprightly, sparse  man,
With lovely manners
And an infectious grin.

I remember grandpa,
As patient as can be;
He always took the time
For his grandkids, you see.

I remember grandpa,
With his Bible on his knee,
Reading by the fireplace,
In peaceful reverie.

I remember grandpa,
Who met trouble with a smile,
Practiced love thy neighbor,
Going that extra mile.

I remember grandpa,
An honest, upright man,
Who worked hard to make a living,
As he tilled the land.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
Love is the Basis for forgiveness.

THE GIFT OF FORGIVENESS
The gift of forgiveness
Is a wonderful gift, you see.
God gave this gift
And it is free to you and to me.

The gift of forgiveness
Will put your heart at rest,
Know the blood of Jesus covers you,
Even when you're put to the test.

The gift of forgiveness
Will give you such peace;
Your fears of tomorrow
Then surely shall cease.

But you must remember,
Forgiveness is a two way street;
You must forgive others,
To make this gift complete!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is Jim, enjoying a cup of coffee in Jamestown Rhode Island.
Where does God fit in? We need to fit him in school, work, home
and even vacations. We do not leave Him on a pew on Sunday
morning.

WHERE DOES GOD FIT IN?
Where does God fit in,
My life?
Do I only call Him,
In times of strife?

Where does God fit in,
My plans?
Do I only call Him,
Now and then?

Where does God fit in,
My busy day,
When I'n too busy
To stop and pray?

Where does God fit in,
My vacation fun?
Are there places I go
That He won't come?

Where does God fit in,
When this life ends?
It all depends,
If I've let Him in!

Freda;s Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is me when I was 5. This picture was taken here in Fullerton at
Reynolds Studio. Mom curled my hair in Shirley Temple curls, but
we had to walk to the Studio or mom walked and I ran, that's what
happened to my Shirley Temple curls.

How will I be Remembered? Some will remember me as this naughty kid.
Some will remember me as mom, some as Jim's wife, some as a coworker
and I hope many as friend, but I would like to be remember as a follower of
Christ!

HOW WILL I BE REMEMBERED?
How will I be remembered,
By those who love me?
Will I be a guiding light?
Did Jesus, in my life, they see?

How will I be remembered,
By those who knew me best?
Will I be remembered,
For having their lives blessed?

How will I be remembered,
By those I chance to meet?
Will they remember a smile or frown,
All those that I greet?

How will I be remembered,
As one, "It's all about me?"
Lord, I pray to be remembered
As one who followed Thee!

Welcome to my Garden!
A circle of friends can be family as well. This is a long ago picture of
my grandparents, Fred and Annie McCoy and my cousin, Jean Boyd
Chapman and me. I'm on the left.

CIRCLE OF FRIENDS
A circle of friends
Is a blessing and trust;
God gave us each other,
Because He loves us so much.

He knows that alone,
Unhappy we would be,
But a circle of friends
He gave you and me.

A circle of friends,
Encourage and support,
Pick you up when you fall
And think you're a good sort.

For a circle of friends...
Give God your thanksgiving;
They  provide you with love
And make life worth living!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This beautiful picture was on a card from Leland and Robbie Rorex.
Robbie is so sweet, she sends us a card about once a month.
Find some place beautiful, or pleasant , or quiet to meditate and
"quick start your devotion"

QUICIK START YOUR DEVOTION
Quick start your devotion
With prayer each day.
Pray for God's guidance,
As you travel along your way.

Quick start your devotion,
By thanking God for everything,
Look with anticipation.
For what each new day will bring.

Quick start your devotion,
By daily reading God's Word;
Find a peaceful, quiet place,
Where you can read undisturbed.

Quick start your devotion,
By songs and praises unto the Lamb
And give glory and give honor
To the Great I AM !
