Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
The Garden tomb in Jerusalem. The day we visited there
the gardeners were working and gave each of us a sprig of
rosemary.

FOLLOWING JESUS
Following Jesus
All the way,
But where will His footsteps
Lead me today?

Following Jesus
When the path is obscure,
But know He is guiding,
And my footsteps are secure.

Following Jesus
To the foot of the cross,
Pleading for faith
To count all else as loss.

Following Jesus
Wherever I roam
Knowing His footsteps,
Will be leading me home!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is Doctor Jeremy Walker... Captain in the US Army. He works in a hospital
at Fort Sam Houston Texas. Jeremy is our youngest grandson and today is Jeremy's
birthday. When he was in the 5th grade, he sent us a book if of poems and in the
book was the following poem.  In the poem in mentions he is afraid of war... and
nervous at the doctor's office... perhaps he decided to face his giants head on?

JEREMY,

Tall, big, energetic, strong.

Brother to Rich and Russell.

Lover of summer days, drawing and fun,

Who feels love near family, afraid during war

And nervous at the doctor's office,

Who gives love, friendship and kindness,

Who fears snakes, bats and plane crashes,

Who would like to see no wars, world peace and equality.

Who lives in a small house.

WALKER.

I think he will make a might fine doctor!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

"My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will,
but as you will." Matthew 26:39

THIS CUP WILL PASS
This cup will pass,
Though bitter it may be.
This cup will pass,
Just you wait and see.

This cup will pass,
And with it all your sorrows.
This cup will pass,
God's with all your tomorrows.

This cup will pass,
The storms will subside.
This cup will pass,
With God you shall abide.

This cup will pass,
And the valley grim.
This cup will pass,
For you shall walk with Him!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
Katie and I at the "happiest  place on earth,"
Disneyland! This was when she was little.
She leaves for college in a couple of months.
Thank you God for laughter and memories.

THANK YOU GOD FOR SMILES AND LAUGHTER
Thank You God for smiles and laughter,
For it lifts the burden of the day.
A very sunny smile,
Will send you on your way.

Thank You God for smiles and laughter,
It accentuates memory;
It dispels bad attitude,
In that, we all agree.

Than You God for smiles and laughter,
It is very catching you see.
If you smile at someone,
They smile back at thee.

Thank You God for smiles and laughter,
They will see us through each day
It is Your special gift
And improves us in every way!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This picture was made last Christmas. I'm holding a Christmas quilt
that a sweet sister, Dot Barr, made for us. She made one for everyone in
our congregation, over 80. One per couple and one for each single.
Perhaps the greatest giant that seniors face... is aging!

FACING OUR GIANTS
Facing our giants
Of worry and fear.
Facing our giants,
Wondering if God's is here.

Facing our giants,
A doctor's report.
Facing our giants,
Looking for support.

Facing our giants,
Feeling all alone.
Facing our giants,
When we're far from home.

Facing our giants,
The threat of war.
Facing our giants,
Faith, peace will restore!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is our granddaughter Katie, meeting Gus for the first time.
This was the day she came home from the hospital. She spent her first
two months in the hospital. She weighed 1 pound and 15 ounces at birth.
She and Gus became great buddies! In her case... "little is much" certainly
fits! :)

LITTLE IS MUCH
Little is much...
In the kingdom of God.
Little us much...
Faith's mustard seed in the sod.

Little is much...
When we're counting time.
Little is much...
For a Savior divine.

Little is much...
Of the world's riches, you see.
Little is much...
Against all eternity.

Little is much...
When helping a friend.
Little is much...
When on you, others can depend!

Little is much...
When a cup of cold water will do.
Little is much...
For God multiplies our service too!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

LETTING GO
Letting go...
Of all the hurts and sorrows,
Looking forward
To all the new tomorrows.

Letting go...
Of past mistakes and sins,
Giving today,
A chance for some wins.

Letting go...
Of worries and all trouble,
Knowing God,
My blessings will surely double.

Letting go...
Of all my hate and fear
Renewing my faith,
That God will always be near!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This picture was taken in Jamestown Rhode Island,
on a walk near Janet and Richard's house, when they
lived there.

GUIDE MY STEPS
Guide my steps...
O God, today,
Help me to see
Your will and Your way.

Guide my steps...
When my path seems rough,
Help me to remember,
I'm made of stern stuff

Guide my steps...
When it s hard to forgive.
Help me dear, Father
To love as I live.

Guide my steps..
Through each path of pain;
Give me the confidence
To believe heaven is my gain.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
"Nothing Greater" than seeing all the beautiful flowers blooming,
on my walk.

NOTHING GREATER
Nothing greater,
Than family to love.
Nothing greater,
Than guidance from above.

Nothing greater,
Than the smell of flowers.
Nothing greater,
Than springtime showers.

Nothing greater,
Than bird's sweet song.
Nothing greater,
Than forgiveness when I'm wrong.

Nothing greater,
Than knowing God is near.
Nothing greater,
Than heaven so dear!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my garden!
I'm always reminded when I see a beautiful cactus  flower blooming, that
this is nature's "victory in adversity!"

VICTORY IN ADVERSITY
Victory in adversity,
When things go wrong.
Victory in adversity,
Is a Christian's "theme song."

Victory in adversity,
When pain we must endure.
Victory in adversity,
God's promises are sure.

Victory in adversity,
Seems an oxymoron.
Victory in adversity,
Is ours, if we carry on.

Victory in adversity,
Love overcomes a world of hate.
Victory in adversity,
When we have the patience to wait!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is our daughter Julie and her husband, Hal (Bo) This was taken several years ago
Our blessings have certainly multiplied down through the years. This past year we gained
a new grand-daughter-in-law  and a new great grandson and a new great granddaughter.
Today is Bo's birthday... Happy Birthday Bo. Thanks for being one of our many blessings!

GOD WILL MULTIPLY YOUR BLESSINGS
God will multiply your blessings,
So give generously.
God will multiply your blessings,
And send them back to thee.

God will multiply your blessings,
Even if it's just a smile.
God will multiply your blessings,
When you go that extra mile.

God will multiply your blessings,
When you hold another's hand.
God will multiply your blessings,
If you do just what you can.

God will multiply your blessings,
When you share His word, in love.
God will multiply your blessings,
With of blessings from above.

Welcome to my Garden!
This is a tea pot and tea cup that my neighbor gave me. The tea pot
stacks on top of the tea cup.

MY CUP OVERFLOWS
My cup overflows,
With blessings from above.
My cup overflows,
With showers of love.

My cup overflows,
With the flowers of grace.
My cup overflows,
For God is in this place.

My cup over flows,
With family and each friend.
My cup overflows
For on God I can depend.

My cup overflows,
With promises dear.
My cup overflows,
For God forgiveness is here!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is not where I worship, but a beautiful old church building
here in Fullerton. The devil loves it when he can get church
members to pointing fingers at one another, when they do this,
they are not pointing to God.

POINTING FINGERS
Pointing fingers...
Is so immature.
Pointing fingers...
When we're not sure.

Pointing fingers...
As we sometimes do.
Pointing fingers...
Do I see me, in you?

Pointing fingers...
Is not very wise.
Pointing fingers...
Is insecurity in disguise.

Pointing fingers...
God does condemn.
Pointing fingers...
If we must point, point to Him!

Welcome to my Garden!
Me with Mt. Shasta in the background. I wouldn't want to
try and climb the face of this mountain!

LIFE IS A CLIMB
Life is a climb...
But the view is great.
Life is a climb...
With much give and take.

Life is a climb...
The way sometimes steep.
Life is a climb...
To the path we must keep.

Life is a climb...
With many roads to take.
Life is a climb...
We often make a mistake.

Life is a climb...
With much trouble and strain.
Life is a climb...
With new heights to gain.

Life is a climb...
We must endure.
Life is a climb...
But our hope is secure!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is the card my daughter Janet sent me for my birthday.
It reminds me of my walks!

HE WALKS WITH ME
He walks with me at sunrise,
When the day is new.
He walks with me, at sunset,
When the day is through.

He walks with me, along the path,
That I take each day.
He walks with me, each breath I take,
As I go along my way.

He walks with me, as I listen,
To the birds sweet song.
He walks with me, as I smell the flowers
As I walk along.

He walks with me, through each day,
And is with me through the night.
He walks with me all the time,
And makes things turn out right!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
In times of war there are always "rage regrets!"

RAGE REGRETS
Rage regrets...
Will be ours today,
If we let our  tongue
Have its willful way.

Rage regrets...
When anger wins a hold
If we give in to anger,
It corrodes the soul.

Rage regrets...
When emotions rule the day
And we lose control
Of what we do and say.

Rage regrets...
When we are unkind
And we let anger
Cloud the heart and mind!

Welcome to my Garden!

TODAY WILL BE AN EXTRAORDINARY DAY
Today will be an extraordinary day,
I'm sure the sun will shine.
Today will be an extraordinary day,
I plan to be so kind.

Today will be an extraordinary day,
For I will hear a bird's sweet song.
Today will be an extraordinary day,
God will be with me as I walk along.

Today will be an extraordinary day,
For I have two feet to walk.
Today will be an extraordinary day,
As I listen to others talk.

Today will be an extraordinary day,
For it is God's gift to me.
Today will be an extraordinary day,
For there is so much in the world to see!

Welcome to my Garden!

CALM IN THE MIDIST IF THE STORM
Calm in the midst of the storm,
When you sail an uncharted sea.
Calm in the midst of the storm.
Jesus calls "I am with thee."

Calm in the midst of the storm,
When your ship rocks to and fro.
Calm in the midst of the storm,
Hold God's hand as you go.

Calm in the midst of the storm,
When all around you is unrest.
Calm in the midst of the storm,
A lesson from life, a test.

Calm in the midst of the storm.
You can make it through each day.
Calm in the midst of the storm,
Safe harbor is on the way.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden:
It seems like with the the passing of each year, my face, like my house,
needs more and more paint! :)

A COAT OF FRESH PAINT:
A coat of fresh paint...
I put on my face each day,
A coat of fresh paint...
As I go on my way.

A coat of fresh paint...
I put upon my soul.
A coat of fresh paint...
Bowing in prayer, so bold.

A coat of fresh paint...
Hides a lot of grime.
A coat of fresh paint...
Forgiveness is mine.

A coat of fresh paint...
God gives me each day.
A coat of fresh paint...
Is grace, for this house of clay!

Welcome to my Garden!
I think in marriage you "resolve to resolve" after 60+ years Jim
and I have resolved to love each other and be faithful and
committed to each other.

RESOLVE TO RESOlVE
Resolve to resolve...
All bitterness of heart.
Resolve to resolve...
Let unhappiness depart.

Resolve to resolve...
Worry of the mind.
Resolve to resolve...
Words that are unkind.

Resolve to resolve...
All thoughts of fear.
Resolve to resolve...
To keep you Savior near.

Resolve to resolve...
To believe everything is okay.
Resolve to resolve...
To smile at everyone today!

Freda's Garden!

Welcome to my Garden!
This is a flock of sheep in New Zealand. They have more
sheep there than they do people.

DREAMING OF FAR AWAY PLACES
Dreaming of far away places
With people who have strange faces.
Visiting cities with a funny name
Seeing countries with great fame.

In old castles, history comes alive,
My imagination, they revive.
Walking across old battle fields
And visiting old country mills.

Dreaming of places far away,
Making new first everyday.
Old, small churches I love so,
Seeing wildflowers where they grow.

Waterfalls and mountains high,
Cities with buildings that reach the sky.
Bridges long and valleys deep,
Countries with less people than the sheep.

Don't just dream of far away places
Pack your bags for wide open spaces.
Than you will realize, wherever you roam,
There is just no place like home, sweet home!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is another repost: I didn't realize that I had written so many
poems about summer... it must be my favorite season? I really
think whatever season we're in... is my favorite at that moment!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT SUMMER
What I like about summer...
I love the summer heat,
Early morning bird-songs
That are such a treat.

I like the day at sunrise...
When it is fresh and new.
I like the day at sunset,
When the day is through.

I love the holidays...
That summer brings along.
Fourth of July celebrations
And a patriotic song.

BBQ's and beach walks...
Family gatherings and such.
Theses are a few reasons
I like summertime so much!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
I sent this out last year, but thought the message
bears repeating! Happy Birthday America!

LET FEEDOM RING
Let freedom ring
Throughout this land.
Let dissenters know,
Just where you stand.

Fly your flag
On each special day.
For this country,
Get on your knees and pray.

Support your troupes
In ways you can,
Let them know
You understand.

Be loving...
When others disagree,
Know Jesus died for them,
As well as thee.

Let freedom ring
Sing out... "I'm free."
And pray to God
That it shall ever be!

Welcome to my Garden!

IN HIS HANDS
In his hands...
A paint brush will release
From an empty canvas,
A masterpiece.

In his hands...
The bow of the the violin
Will make sweet music
For each friend.

In his hands...
With a simple wand
A conductor brings
Alive a song.

In His hands...
My Savior holds
My soul and heart
He forever molds.

In His hands...
You will see
Is the safest place
You'll ever be!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
I'm sure when the butterfly emerges from the cocoon he is surprised,
by God, that he now has wings to fly.
God loves to surprise us as well!

SURPRISED BY GOD
Surprised by God...
We are each day
As He leads us
Along life's way.

Surprise by God...
In little things,
Sweet surprises
That life often brings.

Surprised by God...
With answered prayer.
He wants to bless us,
Wants us to know He's there.

Surprised by God,
Some will surely be,
When we come face to face
And our Lord shall see!

Welcome to my Garden!
This is me holding Katie, in her lady bug costume, that her other grandma made for her.
This was "Pumpkin Day," at church for the kids and she did not know anyone else there,
so my lap was "blessed assurance" for her.

BLESSED ASSURANCE
Blessed assurance...
Few seem to find.
Blessed assurance...
I pray, will be mine.

Blessed assurance...
As I walk each day.
Blessed assurance...
Please come my way.

Blessed assurance...
My Savior is near.
Blessed assurance...
Takes away fear.

Blessed assurance...
God paid for, you see.
Blessed assurance...
His Son died for thee.
