Freda's Garden:

Colorado River in the bottom of the Grand Canyon.
No way would I go there down a steep trail on a donkey!

DON'T GO THERE
Don't go there...
The grumpy state.
Don't go there...
If its bitterness and hate.

Don't go there...
A dark and dreary place.
Don't go there...
If its a hurried race.

Don't go there...
A mind filed with fear.
Don'r go there...
If Jesus is not near.

Don't go there...
With thoughts, so grim.
Don't go there...
Our Jesus, follow Him!

Freda's Garden!

Welcome to my Garden:
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we lived
in a world where there were no more wars?

A BROKEN WORLD
We live in a broken world
One that needs  God so much;
Lives are sometimes shattered
And need a healing touch.

We live in a broken world
It separates us from our Savior,
Broken lives and broken dreams
And some unkind behavior.

We live in a broken world
There's so much pain and sorrow,
For some, no peace today
And no hope for tomorrow.

We live in a broken world
But God has a Master plan
To restore the brokenness
Through Jesus' nail scarred hand!

Freda's Garden!

Welcome to my Garden:
This is our daughter Janet, pining on her son, Jeremy's
Eagle Badge in Boy Scouts,  with her husband, Richard
looking on a proud moment for mom and dad. He has
earned more credentials since then..doctor and Captain
in the Army in the and the most important one, "new dad!"

CRENDENTIALS
Credentials...
Are a must in the world we live.
Credentials...
Everywhere we must give.

Credentials...
Driver's license to produce
Credentials...
A passport is put to good use.

Credentials...
A credit-card, we must show.
Credentials...
With a BA you have far to go.

Credentials...
There are many we must give.
Credentials...
The best one... the way we live!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden:

IN SPITE OF...
In spite of trouble
Life is worth living.
In spite of selfish people
I still believing in giving.

In spite of pain
Today can be mine.
In spite of rudeness
I can be kind.

In spite of indifference
I can show care.
In spite of unbelief
God is still there.

In spite of war
Within we can have peace.
In spite of horror
Our fears we can release!

In spite of the scoffers
And all that they say.
In spite of all this...
Jesus is coming back one day!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
Our journey has ended at a tomb. This week has been a paradox
one of triumph to tragedy and then to victory. The Sabbath is over
and the women are anxious to get to the tomb to take care of His body.
Imagine their surprise when confronted by two angels!

THE EMPTY TOMB
They hurried to the tomb,
When it was early in the day.
The women met two angels,
While they were on their way

The angels said,
"Do not fear...
The One you are looking for,
He is no longer here!

He has risen, like He said,
Come and see where He lay...
Then go tell His disciples,
Hurry, do not delay!"

The women hurried off
And it was very soon,
They said to the disciples,
"Come and see the empty tomb!"

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden:
Today is day 6 on our journey to the cross. I have been sending this poem
out on "Good Friday," for several years.

SIX HOURS ONE FRIDAY
Six hours one Friday
Just an ordinary day;
The people of Jerusalem
Went about their way.

Some went to market,
Others tended sheep,
Thousands to the temple
With sacrifices there to keep.

While the city bustled,
On an ordinary day,
History was changing
In an extraordinary way.

Within six hours on that Friday
The earth trembled to the core.
The temple curtain became torn
From the ceiling to the floor.

All around was darkness,
The sun refused to shine.
People groped about them,
As if they were blind.

And on that distant hill
They heard an eerie cry
From the center figure,
That was about to die.

My God, My God,
Why have has Thou forsaken me?
Came the pleading call
From the One upon the tree.

In six hours on that Friday
God claimed a victory,
Over death and Satan
On a cross on Calvary.

But not all believe the story,
That it came about this way...
That God works His best miracles
On an ordinary day!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.
This is day 5 on our journey to the cross.
After washing the disciple's feet and the passover meal was finished and Judas
departed to betray Jesus, they left the upper-room and wert to the Garden of Gethsemane
I have a feeling when He was troubled that this was a favorite place in Jerusalem for Jesus.
It was quiet and peaceful among the olive trees. I took this picture in 1984. It was still quiet
and peaceful among the olive trees. Do you have a quiet peaceful place you like to go to
when you're troubled?

GETHSEMANE
We all have our Gethsemane
With indecision, pain and loss.
We feel the weight of the world
And the burden of our cross.

But Jesus was comforted
By angels that day...
We will have the comfort
Of the One whose been that way.

Because Jesus suffered
Great drops of sweat as blood
He has such mercy for us
And His love is like a flood.

His love flows right to us,
Even when our life has sin.
He wants us to be restored
And feel His love again.

The agony He suffered
In Gethsemane that day
Was for the restoration
Of a world that's lost its way!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
Day 4 on our journey to the cross:
Just before the passover meal in the upper-room, Jesus
washed the feet of His disciples. He even washed the feet of Judas,
knowing that he would betray Him. What an example of forgiveness
for us to follow!

BETRAYAL
Betrayal is heart breaking
Especially, if one you love and care
Has proven unworthy,
It seems so hard to bear.

You may feel the world's against you,
That you have nowhere to turn.
Your friendship has been rejected,
Your love has been spurn.

Jesus must have had these same feelings,
When one of His very own
Sold Him for thirty silver pieces,
He must have felt so all alone,

He did not seem to be angry.
Only sad, but He knew why,
His betrayal was long predicted
And He knew He had to die.

Judas was remorseful
And he took his life that day
A lesson to be faithful
And never a friend betray!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is day 3 on our journey to the cross. This is a neighbor's fig tree
and just as in Jesus' day, it has no fruit, for it is not the season for fruit.
This was an object lesson in faith that Jesus taught His disciples.
Matthew 21:19-22 Mark 11: 20-24

THE FIG TREE LESSON
Early in the morning,
To the city, on His way
Jesus passed an unfruitful fig tree
He cursed it that day.

It was an object lesson
For His disciples, you see
And the fig tree wilted
At His decree.

The disciples were astounded
At the things that He could do,
But He told them to have faith
And they could do great things too.

He felt the pressure
That time was running out
He had much to teach them
And He knew that they had some doubt.

He had to prepare them
For the coming event
And tell them for this reason
To earth, He was sent!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden:
This is day two of Passion Week and Jesus' journey
to the cross. This is all that is left of the temple court area,
where Jesus ran out the money changers. The Pharisees kept
their eyes on Jesus to catch  Him in the wrong and Jesus kept His
eyes God.

KEEP YOUR EYES IN HIM
Keep your eyes on Him,
Wherever you may go.
Keep your eyes on Him,
His love you shall know.

Keep your eyes on Him,
When the nights are long.
Keep your eyes on Him,
When life has lost its song.

Keep your eyes on Him,
When disappointments come your way.
Keep your eyes on Him...
When you're having a very, bad day.

Keep your eyes on Him,
In all you say and do.
Keep your eyes on Him,
And He will see you through!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This  the old part old part of Jerusalem. Perhaps Jesus
walked this very street.
When he entered the city in triumph on Palm Sunday, he knew
that before the week was out, His wounded body would hang on
a cross.

A WOUNDED BODY
A wounded boy...
Is hard to bear.
A wounded body...
With no one to care.

I wounded body...
Filled with pain.
A wounded body...
Jesus, by name.

A wounded body...
Reviled and betrayed.
A wounded body...
Alone and unafraid.

A wounded body...
To atone for my sin.
A wounded body...
Jesus, my Friend!

Welcome to my Garden:
This is a school-house clock that Jim
bought for 15 dollars. I must take time to wind it
or it will stop ticking. Life is a bit like that..If we do not
take "time for God, " our ticking gets out if sync

 TIME FOR GOD
Time for God...
We must make, you see.
Time for God...
From you and from for me.

Time for God...
In a busy life.
Time for God...
Amidst stress and strife,

Time for God...
When troubles come.
Time for God...
And Jesus, His Son.

Time for God...
Will it be?
Time for God...
If I want His time for me!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

A beautiful Fullerton sunset: I never regret seeing a beautiful sunrise or sunset!
Regrets are like worry, a waisted emotion.

REGRETS
Regrets...
In the way you lived?
Regrets...
In the things you give?

Regrets...
In the things you say?
Regrets...
Along life's way?

Regrets...
In the things you've done?
Regrets...
In the souls not won?

Regrets...
You can't live life again.
Regrets...
God forgives all your sin!

This is Katie,  our little ballerina ... several year ago. She is now
in her second year of college. It takes a lot of practice to become
a ballerina.

PUT INTO PRACTICE
Put into practice
Love for all men.
Put into practice
The desire to win.

Put into practice
Cheerfulness of mind.
Put into practice
The desire to be kind.

Put into practice
Helping others along way.
Put into practice
Smiling each day.

Put into practice
Forgiveness, you see.
Put all into practice,
For God forgave thee.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. The followers of Jesus
was certainly disappointed when Jesus died on the cross. But "beyond
disappointment" was the resurrection!

BEYOND DISAPPOINTMENT
Beyond disappointment...
God you will find.
Beyond disappointment...
Is peace of mind.

Beyond disappointment...
Jesus will be there.
Beyond disappointment...
Is God's tender care.

Beyond disappointment...
Is a better day.
Beyond disappointment...
Is God's will and way.

Beyond disappointment...
And life's raging storms,
Beyond disappointment...
Is a shinning new morn!

You yourselves are our letter written on our hearts, known
and read by everybody. 2 Corinthian 3:2

A LOVE LETTER
A love letter...
God writes,  you see.
A love letter...
To you and to me.

A love letter...
Speaks of hope.
A love letter...
To help us cope.

A love letter...
From heaven above.
A love letter...
God's expression of love.

A love letter...
Jesus by name.
A love letter...
It's why He came!

Welcome to my Garden:

SAFE IN HIS ARMS
Safe in His arms...
The place to be.
Holding fast and sure
Through out eternity.

Safe in His arms...
Feeling secure,
Protected and loved,
When I'm unsure.

Safe in His arms...
From a world filled with sin.
Knowing the peace,
That comes from within.

Safe in His arms...
When storms rage around.
Kept from all harm,
I'm heaven bound!

Welcome to my Garden:
This is a sunset over the Ozark's:

LIGHT IN DARKNESS
Light in darkness...
I pray to be.
Light in Darkness...
For the world to see.

Light in Darkness...
When burdens are hard to bear.
Light in darkness...
Jesus is there.

Light in darkness...
When failures I see.
Light in darkness...
Help me to be.

Light in darkness...
In a world filled with sin.
