Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
Wow! Today I've sent out 2,000 poems. I guess I'll try for 3,000

SOMETHING'S WRONG

Something's wrong
With our world today
People want to have
Their own will and way.

Something's wrong
Bombs explode in a crowd
Innocent people are killed
And the guilty are proud.

Something's wrong
Schools are not safe
All of the children
Should have a safe place.

Something's wrong
We're divided so much
We are a world that needs
The Savior's touch!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.

THE ONE WHO SAVED US

The One who saved us
We're in His keep.
The One who saved us
Watches us in our sleep.

The One who saved us
Will hear our cry.
The One who saved us
Will not pass us by.

The One who saved us
Whispers, "Peace be still."
The One who saved us
Our hearts will fill.

The One who saved us
Jesus Christ, tis He!
The One who saved us
Has set us free!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.
Today is our lovely daughter, Janet's birthday. If I had to
use only one word to describe her it would be "Teacher"
She started teaching at about the age in this picture and
is still teaching today as a librarian.

TEACHING OTHERS

Teaching others
With story and rhyme
Teaching others
Investing your time.

Teaching others
We shall see
Teaching others
Teaches you and me.

Teaching others
Each girl and each boy
Teaching other
It will fill you with joy.

Teaching others
When it comes from the heart
Teaching others
Your love you impart!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
This is a romantic past Anniversary. Our
life has been "better than planned" by God.

BETTER THAN PLANNED

Better than planned
When we follow God
Better than planned
As through this life we trod.

Better than planned
When we kneel and pray.
Better than planned
When we're thankful each day.

Better than planned
When we know we belong
Better than planned
When we forgive a wrong.

Better than planned
When we're trusting and true
Better than planned
When we follow God though!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to  my Garden!

WHY FORGIVE?

Why forgive?
It is a command.
Jesus died to forgive
We must understand.

Why forgive?
It frees the soul
Of the devil's plan
And his great hold.

Why forgive?
It will set us free
It will help us in life
To be all we can be.

Why forgive?
Because of love
And all the blessings
From God above.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden:

THE PRICE OF LOVE

The price of love
Was paid on the cross.
The price of love
Grief and loss.

The price of love
Means sacrifice.
The price of love
Care will suffice.

The price of love
Will work for free.
The price of love
A servant will be.

The price of love
Will suffer some.
The price of love
Was God's own Son!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

SEEING GOD

Seeing God...
In an opening flower.
Seeing God...
In a wave's thundering power.

Seeing God...
In an elderly face
Seeing God...
And not ones race.

Seeing God
In the sun's bright ray.
Seeing God...
At the close of day.

Seeing God...
In a baby's smile.
Seeing God
In a sleeping child.

Seeing God
In a loved ones care.
Seeing God...
Look! He's everywhere!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden:
"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed. Which is the smallest of seeds,
yet when planted, it becomes the largest of plants."  Mark 4:30-32

SCATTERING SEED

Scattering seeds
Along life's way
Scattering seeds
Of Good deeds each day.

Scattering seeds
Of joy and laughter.
Scattering seeds
For this who come after.

Scattering seeds
Of truth and faith
Scattering seeds
Of mercy and grace.

Scattering seeds
Of God's great love
Scattering seeds
Of blessing from above!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
Sometimes we hold on to old hurts and old habits, Like
I'm holding on to this sunflower.

LETTING GO

Letting go...
Of yesterday
Letting go...
Of things your way.

Letting go...
Of bitterness
Letting go
For happiness.

Letting go...
Of hurts from the past..
Letting go...
For peace that will last.

Letting go...
Of habits wrong.
Letting go...
Sing a brand new song!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
"Your love Lord reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies."
Psalm 36:5

AFTER YOU

 After you...
Our God is He.
After you....
He will guide thee.

After you...
To do what's right
After you...
To stay in the fight.

After you...
To be the best you can.
After you...
He has a plan.

After you...
With love and grace
After you...
To stay in the race.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden:
This is me at 4 and at 84 I'm still God's child!

BE LIKE A LITTLE CHILD

Be like a little child
In the way you believe in God
Be like a little child
As through this world you trod.

Be like a little child
In the way you love.
Be like a little child
Trusting God above.

Be like a little child
Finding joy in little things
Be like a little child
Accepting all that life brings.

Be like a little child
Know peace when you sleep
Be like a little child
Asking God your soul to keep

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.
This was morning over Sydney Australia, just as the plane was coming in
it was a beautiful morning after a very long night.

WHEN MORNING COMES

When morning comes
Thank God for a new day.
When morning comes
Forget yesterday.

When morning comes
After a weary night
When morning comes
Things will be alright.

When morning comes
The sun will rise too
When morning comes
Hope will renew.

When morning comes
There'll be no more fears
When morning comes
God will wipe away all tears.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden:
This is a pearl ring with 4 small diamonds. I bought it
at the jewelry mart in LA, years ago.  Looking at it, I
think of two hidden mysteries, a  grain of sand in an oyster
becomes a pearl and a piece of coal becomes a beautiful diamond.

HIDDEN MYSTERIES

Hidden mysteries
Deep in the earth
A diamond in the coal
That becomes such worth.

Hidden mysteries
Deep in the sea
A grain of sand in an oyster
A pearl to be.

Hidden mysteries
In human form
A tiny seed
A child is born.

Hidden mysteries
The Godhead Three
God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit
That lives in me.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!

Worry is like this rocking chair....it is something to do, but
it will get you nowhere!

WHEN WORRY WALKS IN

When worry walks in
Strength walks out.
When worry walks in
Faith takes a clout.

When worry walks in
Joy is not keen.
When worry walks in
Peace leaves the scene.

When worry walks in
Mercy seems far away.
When worry walks in
Wisdom falls by the way.

When worry walks in
Hope won't survive.
When worry walks in
Discontent comes alive.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
Happy Valentine's Day. <3
This is one of my favorite pictures of our granddaughter-in-law Jen,
kissing her new born son Camden. Camden will be three next month.
Today is Jen's birthday. Happy birthday sweet girl and thank you for
making a lovely home for Camden and Russell!

HOME
Home...
Love and security
Home...
Acceptance is a surety.

Home...
Where you can be free.
Home...
Where I can be me.

Home...
A place to renew
Home...
Where others forgive you.

Home...
A place to dream
Home...
Where no one is mean!

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
No matter how old we are, we're still God's child!

GOD HEARS OUR CRIES

God hears our cries
For mercy and grace
God hears our cries
He may not answer with haste.

God hears our cries
When the storms abound
God hears our cries
We may not think He's around.

God hears our cries
In trouble and sorrow
God hears our cries
And will guide our tomorrows.

God hears our cries
When life's hard to bear.
God hears our cries
And know He does care!

FEELING FORSAKEN?

Feeling forsaken
Thinking no one cares?
Feeling forsaken
No one to see your tears?

Feeling forsaken
By everyone?
Feeling forsaken
When day is done?

Feeling forsaken
By all your peers?
Feeling forsaken
Think no one hears?

Feeling forsaken?
You're in good company.
Jesus was forsaken
On the cross, you see!

Welcome to my Garden:
What this man did shaped the history of our country.
And what we do can shape our world too!

WHAT WE DO

What we do...
Makes a difference, you see.
What we do...
Does not only effect you and me.

What we do...
Each moment of the day.
What we do...
Changes lives by the way.

What we do...
When trouble comes in
What we do...
And where we have been.

What we do ...
With trials and sorrows
What we do...
Will shape all our tomorrows!

WORTH IT ALL

Worth it all...
To save a someone.
Worth it all...
A battle won.

Worth it all...
To hold my tongue.
Worth it all...
When day is done.

Worth it all...
The burdens I bear.
Worth it all...
To know God's care.

Worth it all...
To endure the pain.
Worth it all...
For heaven's gain.

rest of our lives.

THE DEFINITE CHOICE

There's many, you see
The definite choice
Is a life lived free.

The definite choice
When you've been hurt by someone
The definite choice
Is to forgive and be done.

The definite choice
Is find joy in each day
The definite choice
Is to see things God's way

Is love after all

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.
This is a hill close to "Garden Tomb," in Jerusalem,
And some believe this is Calvary.

ON A HILL FAR AWAY

On a hill far away
On a distant day
On A hill far away
God had His way.

On a hill far away
Christ paid the cost
On a hill far away
He died for the loss.

On a hill for away
Blood flowed from His side
On a hill for away
The world's hope died.

On a hill far away
Was a great mystery
On a hill for away
Jesus won a Victory.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden!
A rabbit can be an unwelcome visitor in a vegetable garden.

AN UNWELCOME VISITOR

An unwelcome visitor
Are pests you see,
Ants roaches and fleas
Are most unwelcome by me.

An unwelcome visitor
Is very often pain,
We pray for deliverance
And comfort to gain.

An unwelcome visitor
Is a storm on life's sea
When the waves overwhelms
We just want to be free.

An unwelcome visitor
Is the devil, I deplore
I'll call out to Jesus,
"Please answer the door!"

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.
This is me teaching a Sunday school class. Many of these
children, now have children of their own. When I taught a
class I aways learned more than the children. The boy on
the end of the first boat is our grandson, Jeremy Walker. He's
now a doctor in the Army, with a son of his own and is expecting
another son in April.

TEACHING THE TEACHER

Each teacher
Learns more than they teach
It should be the goal
For each child that they reach.

Each teacher
Learns from the lessons they prepare
And children will know
If you're happy to be there.

Each teacher
Learns, one size does not fit all
Each child learns differently
Teachers need to make a wise call.

Each teacher
Needs to learn the value of teaching
When they see the joy
In the children they're teaching.

Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden.
This is a picture I took on my walk one spring. It is a fruit tree
in bloom. Spring comes to southern California too.

A SEASON FOR EVERYTHING

A season of new birth
We call it spring
A season of renewal
For everything.

A season of summer
When the sun shines so bright
And the air is flower scented
On a warm summer night.

A season of fall
With a harvest of plenty
And we remember our blessings
For they are so many.

A season of winter
That brings cold and snow
The world lies in slumber
Waiting for spring's glow.

Welcome to my Garden!

When man begins to think he is a force to be reckoned with...a new
force moves in...God!

A NEW FORCE

A new force
God of every nation
A new force
God of all creation.

A new force
Jesus Christ tis He
A new force
Know He died for thee.

A new force
Is the Holy Spirit, you see
A new force
Living in me.

A new force
Is the Trinity
A new force
For all eternity!

Rebuilding...
A country, a stronger nation.

Rebuilding...
A relationship with Jesus Christ.
Rebuilding...
Peace to end the strife.

Rebuilding...
Confidence in our fellow man
Rebuilding...

Welcome to my Garden!
Footsteps that follow Jesus, never follow in vain.

NOT IN VAIN

Not in vain
Do we pray
For God will hear
Each and every day.

Not in vain
Do we love
For God's blessings
Fall from above.

Not in vain
Do we believe
For we know
Salvation we receive.

Not in vain
Is the life we're given
For eternity awaits
For us in heaven.

Welcome to my Garden:
Puppets for the story of David and Goliath.
The Spirit intercedes for the saints according to God's will.
Romans 8:27

THE GROWTH OF A SAINT

The growth of a saint
Is a work of a life time.
A growth of a saint
One step forward and two behind.

The growth of a saint
Is sacrifice and tears.
The growth of a saint
Takes years and years.

The growth of a saint
Is the road travelled less.
The growth of a saint
Is hard, I must confess.

The growth of a saint
Is guided by love.
The growth of a saint
Brings blessings from above!
