Welcome to my Garden!
If you have to grow old, it's so nice to grow old with someone
you love!
REFLECTIONS
Reflections...
Of being a young bride,
Facing the future,
With a loving husband at my side.
Reflections...
Of our children's birth,
Of all the good times,
Of laughter and mirth.
Reflections...
As they grew healthy and tall,
Becoming independent,
Not needing us at all.
Reflections...
Of grandchildren, so dear,
Family gatherings,
Thankful that they are near.
Reflections...
As we grow older together,
Facing each day,
In fair or stormy weather!

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden
This is our youngest grandson, Jeremy receiving his
Eagle Scout badge. He may never know how much
influence he had on fellow scouts, for the years he
spent in the Boy Scouts. Today is his 25 birthday
and he starts to work in a Memphis hospital in surgery,
Working on his doctor's degree.
YOU MAY NEVER KNOW
You may never know...
Whom you may impress,
Who may be watching what you do,
So, do your very best.
You may never know...
The power of your influence today,
That others look to you,
For you to lead the way.
You my never know...
It may never be found,
That just being kind
Turned another's life around.
You may never know...
Until you reach your heavenly home,
That so many followed you
Right to God's very Throne!

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden!
A restful picture from Ideals Magazine.
ALONG THE FOOTPATH
Along the footpath
Of life, you'll see...
Many weary travelers,
Some, just like you and me.
They carry heavy a load
That is hard to bear;
They are looking for someone
For whom they want to care.
Along the footpath
Won't you be that hand,
That reaches down in comfort,
Let the weary know you understand.
Along the footpath
Do not fail to look around,
For the straggling souls,
That want to be found.
Along the footpath
As it leads home, you see,
There must be some others,
That have followed thee!

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden!
This is the watch that Janet and Richard and family got Jim for Father's Day.
The Lord's timing is perfect!
THE LORD'S TIMING IS PERFECT
The Lord's timing is perfect,
Even if ours is not.
He answers each prayer,
When His will has been sought.
The Lord's timing is perfect,
Because He sees from beginning to end.
He knows just what we need,
He wants to be our friend.
The Lord's timing is perfect,
He answers each prayer, you see;
His answer maybe no...
He knows what's best for you and me.
The Lord's timing is perfect,
He has put you in this place and time;
He whispers softly, "Be patient,
For all plans for the future are mine!"

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden!
This family picture brings back such memories and inspired the following poem.
On the far right, standing, my grandpa is holding me and grandma is holding
my cousin, Claudia and standing next to grandma is Claudia's brother, Marion
sadly, only the three of us are left!
SUMMERTIME
Summertime...
Brings such memories of delight,
Mama's bountiful garden
And fireflies flickering at night.
Summertime...
A block of ice from the store
To make homemade lemonade and ice-cream
Who could ask for anything more?
Summertime...
Swimming in the creek,
Warm summer evenings
Playing hide and seek.
Summertime...
A whippoorwill's lonesome call,
Long evening shadows,
A baby calf mooing in the stall.
Summertime...
Picking blackberries for a pie,
Much needed summer showers
Falling from the sky.
All these memories
Of a long ago summertime,
Still gives me pleasure
I thank God they are mine!

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden!
God shows His amazing grace in the beauty of changing seasons.
THE AMAZING GRACE OF GOD
The amazing grace of God
That reaches, even me,
And was bought with such a price,
On a cross on Calvary
The amazing grace of God,
That forgives all sin
And cleanses us from all dross
And makes us whole again.
The amazing grace of God,
That is an everlasting source;
A fountain, ever flowing,
From the fountain-head of course.
The amazing grace of God
How can it be...
That the King of the universe
Loves even me?

Welcome to my Garden!
The cross is a reminder that God keeps His promises!
GOD PROMISED
God promised the world
To send His Son, centuries ago;
The prophecy of His coming,
Was fulfilled, we know.
God promised us a Savior
To rid the world of sin
He promised the Holy Spirit
Our hearts to dwell within.
God promised answered prayers
And He fulfills that promise each day.
He promised us His strength,
As we travel on our way.
God promised Christ would return,
To take us to home our home above,
Where we will live in peace,
Surrounded by His love!

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden!
I painted this little bunny and fired him in a kiln. When in the
bisque stage the pieces are very fragile, but become very sturdy
after they are glazed and fired, somewhat like us Christians
who've been tempered by" the refiner's fire!"
THE REFINER'S FIRE
Have you been tempered by the refiner's fire?
Has God refined you with trials today?
Do you feel His touch
As you travel along the way?
Have you been refined in the fire?
Is pain a constant companion to you?
Do you live from moment to moment
Just trying the day to get through?
Have you been in the refiner's fire,
Having lost a loved one so dear?
Know that God sees your tears
And He wants to be near.
We're all refined by life's fires;
They make us stronger, you see
And we will never be far from His sight,
As He refines you and me!

Welcome to my Garden!
This is a Christmas past. (way past) I love holiday left-overs
but after a few days, I get very tired of them! God must feel
this way when we constantly serve Him left-overs!
DON'T GIVE GOD THE LEFT-OVERS
Don't give God the left-overs
Of your busy day.
Start the day with prayer
And let it be your way.
Don't give God the left-overs
Of your precious time,
Know He's always waiting,
He has an open-line.
Don't give God the left-overs
Of the talent He has given you,
Use it to His glory
And He will increase it too.
Don't give God the left-overs
Of your financial plan, you see,
Be sure to give Him first offer
And He will multiply it for thee!

Welcome to my Garden!
There are simple pleasures that money can't buy!
THE BEST DIVIDENDS ARE NOT PAID IN MONEY
The best dividends
Are not paid in money...
Smiles and hugs
And stories that are funny.
The best dividends
Are things that are free,
The are air we breathe,
Being able to see.
The best dividends
Are things that are true
Sunrise-and sunsets
And skies that are blue.
Flowers that are in bloom,
Rain's cleansing showers,
Soft, falling snow-flakes
You can watch for hours.
The best dividends
Are not paid in money, you see,
The very best dividend...
Salvation, it's free!

Welcome to my Garden!
This little guy doesn't look like he likes what he's found!
YOU WILL FIND WHAT YOU SEEK
If you seek evil,
It, you will find
And you can be sure
That's Satan's not far behind.
If you seek good
It, you will see,
Just look for God
And there it shall be.
If you seek joy
The whole day through
It will be there,
Waiting for you.
But if you seek gloom,
Think blue skies are gray,
You will find darkness
In your new day.
But if you seek God
And follow the light,
You'll walk in the sunshine,
Your day will be bright!

Welcome to my Garden!
This is part of my cactus garden. Cactus are very
common looking until they bloom. I would call
this... "Uncommon beauty in common places."
UNCOMMON BEAUTY IN COMMON PLACES
Uncommon beauty in common places,
A tender plant, growing out of a fire's ash,
A lonely wild flower...
In a mining-hole gash.
Uncommon beauty in common places,
A black-eyed susan in a cement crack,
A homeless child...
Carrying his pack.
Uncommon beauty in common places
An abandoned kitty on a dirty street,
Looking for a home...
And a much needed treat.
Uncommon beauty in common places,
A King on a criminals' cross
Dying for a world....
That's so very lost!

HELP IS ON THE WAY
Are you in need of help?
Do you feel you've lost your way?
Do not worry,
Help is on the way.
Are you undecided,
In the things that you should do?
Are you a bit confused
And feeling, oh so blue?
Are you ready to quit
And don't know where to turn?
Just hold on awhile,
You have much to learn.
Go to God's Word...
Read with an open mind,
There's help for you there
The very best kind.
Say, "I trust you God!"
Get on your knees and pray
And know that very soon

Security...

Freedom from oppression

Security...
Bank accounts that grow,

We try ourselves to surround.

I'M TOO YOUNG TO BE EIGHTY
I'm too young to be eighty,
It's just a number anyway.
I'm too young for a rocking chair,
Getting younger every day!
I'm too young to be eighty,
I don't have wrinkles, just laugh lines.
I'm too young to be eighty,
Remembering all the good times.
I'm too young to be eighty,
I've so much left to do.
I'm making a bucket list,
Doing a lot of living before I'm through.
I'm too young to be eighty,
My heart says "twenty-one;"
After all it's just a number
And I'm putting old-age on the run!
Said with tongue in cheek I'm thankful for all the
years God has given me.

"Life is just not fair."

If we get what we deserve,
You know it just could be
We'd be much worse off
We're not so deserving, you see.
We would rather think
That it's fate testing us,
But God is doing the testing
And we should make no fuss.
For every cross we bear,
Is a lesson so very true,
A blessings in disguise
Waiting there for me and you!

near Sydney Australia. We flew from LAX to Sydney,
crossing the international date line. We left Sunday night
and arrived in Sydney Tuesday morning. It certainly felt
like "the upside down world!"
THE UPSIDE DOWN WORLD
We live in an upside-down world
Where good is bad
And bad is good,
This is very sad.
The upside-down world
Where there is no penalty for cheating,
Character is out-dated
And kindness is fleeting.
The upside-down world
Where faithfulness is old-fashioned
And seeking youthfulness
Is a passion...
The upside-down world
Where Christianity is weak
And for most of the world,
Only pleasure they seek.
The upside-down world
Where relationships are surface,
Many have lost direction
And live lives without purpose.
We must remember...
Jesus can right the world we live in
For He died on a cross
To take away all sin!

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden!
"When life shows up," call a friend!
WHEN LIFE SHOWS UP
When life shows up
And hits you in the face,
Just step back...
And seek a hiding place.
A place of peace and calm
A serene, safe retreat.
A place where you can go,
For your Savior to meet.
When life shows up,
Don't wring your hands and cry,
Just stand right up and say
"I know my Savior's nigh."
When life shows up
And drowns you with sorrow,
Reach out for God's hand
Look for a better day tomorrow.
When life shows up,
Don't let it ruin your day
Go to God in prayer,
Get on your knees and pray.
When life shows up
Don't be afraid...
If it's like a sour lemon,
Just make sweet, lemonade!

Freda's Garden:
Welcome t my Garden!
This is a picture of mom and dad celebrating her 80th birthday
at the convalescent hospital, where she was a patient. It is hard
for me to believe that I will soon be celebrating my own 80th!
God meet us where we are, in all circumstances!
GOD WILL MEET US WHERE WE ARE
God will meets us
Just where we are;
It may be in the gutter,
Or it may be in a bar.
God will meet us
Where ever we may be,
Even in prison...
He will meet you and me.
God will meet us,
Down on our knees.
He will meet us in a sick room
Fighting off some disease.
God will meet us,
Where we are, my friends,
He will lift us up...
And forgive all our sins!

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden!
This little guy seems happy to have found blessings in small
things.
BE HAPPY... COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS
Be happy... count your blessings,
They outweigh your sorrows.
One blessing, God will be waiting
When you reach tomorrow.
Be happy... count your blessings;
You can't really count them all,
For on you, God has bestowed so many,
Some large and some small.
Everything that you have,
Really comes from God,
So count your many blessings
As through this life you trod.
Be happy... count your blessings
Do not count your loss
For God proved He will bless you
By sending His Son to died on a Cross.

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden!
I'm not sure this little guy wants to clime the "promises" of another kiss!
PROMISES, JUST WAITING TO BE CLAMED
Promises, just waiting to be claimed;
Don't hesitate to get in line,
Know that God keeps His promises,
But in His time, not yours and mine.
You must believe in Jesus.
You must know His name,
Then you may find the treasure,
Promises, just waiting to be claimed.
Everyone loves a treasure hunt,
We're always excited to find,
Promises, just waiting to be claimed
Are of the heavenly kind.
Expect to find fulfillment,
As you go along the way
Promises, just wait to be claimed
Will be yours today!

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden:
Those who enjoy this beautiful scene, certainly are
"reaping the joy!"
REAPING THE JOY
Reaping the joy...
Of a well lived life.
Reaping the joy...
Of overcoming sorrow and strife.
Reaping the joy...
Of a family so dear.
Reaping the joy...
Of having loved ones near.
Reaping the joy...
So shall it be,
That I am so thankful
For a country that's free.
Reaping the joy...
Of forgiveness of sin.
Reaping the joy...
Of knowing Jesus as friend!

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden!
This is my mom, Alma Johnson McCoy, in her
flapper days! This picture was made on the courthouse
steps in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Today is her birthday,
she would have been 100! In the last thirty years of her
life she was a shut-in and she certainly relied on the
power of God each day!
THAT'S HOW POWER WORKS
When I am weak
God is strong,
That's how power works
All along.
The power of prayer,
How can it be,
That God listens
To you and me?
The power of the blood of Christ,
That forgives all sin,
Cleanses our heats
And souls within.
The power of Christians,
Who unite,
To fight the darkness
And bring the light.
The power of God's Word,
For those who search
They find salvation,
That's how power works!

Welcome to my Garden!
This is a Thomas Kinkade print of our nation's Capitol.
Happy Birthday USA! May you always be a light to
the world and be "One Nation Under God"
Be sure to fly your flag today!
LORD OF LIGHT
Lord of light,
Lord of love,
Lord of all good things
From above.
Lord of light,
Lord of Grace,
Lord of sacrifice,
For the human race.
Lord of light,
Lord of creation,
Lord, this my prayer,
Be with our nation!

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden!
My scanner is working again, thanks to our grandson Rich!
The gardener of this garden, certainly sets "a higher standard."
A HIGHER STANDARD
God sets a higher standard
For those who follow Him today.
He expects honesty and faithfulness,
For our debts, He did pay.
A higher standard
For Christians, is to be;
The world watches,
What we do... you and me.
We are the arms of God
And His legs and feet.
We may be the only face of God
That some will ever meet.
So, be careful how you live,
Just remember the cost...
God paid for your soul
And to save all that's lost!

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden!
No picture today, my scanner suddenly quit working!
LIFE CHANGING CHOICES:
Life changing choices,
That effect you, your whole through.
Be careful how you choose today,
The choice will always be with you.
Life changing choices
That you make today
Will direct your life...
Be careful what you do or say.
Life changing choices
So many ways to choose,
But the choices that you make
Will help you win or lose.
Life changing choices
You never can retrieve,
But know you've been forgiven,
This you must believe.
Life changing choices,
Begin now, to choose wise.
Do not look back with regret
God's forgiveness recognize!

Freda's Garden:
Welcome to my Garden!
THE SMALLEST ACT OF KINDNESS
The smallest act of kindness,
The smallest little smile,
Will wipe away a frown,
That's been there for awhile.
The smallest act of kindness
Will make someone's day,
Look a littler brighter
And send then on their way.
The smallest act of kindness
Can be more than you may see,
It may really save a life,
For someone in jeopardy.
The smallest act of kindness,
Makes a difference, can't you see
And it will spread to another,
For it's as contagious as can be!
