Perky little violets
Speak of hospitality.
They always seem to say,
"Share a friend with me."
They love to find a place
On a friendly windowsill,
Or perk up a sick-room,
Of someone that is ill.
They are a perfect gift
For a neighbor, just moved in,
A way to say, "Welcome,
I want to be your friend."
You can even say, "I'm sorry,"
with this plant, you see...
Yes, violets really speak
Of hospitality to me.
