How did you wake up this morning?
What did you say?
Did you thank God for his protection,
Or say, "Oh God, is it day?"
Did you feel cold and lonely?
Did you start the day with dread?
Did you want to stay under covers,
And spend the day in bed?
Time will travel on without you,
So you must get up and say,
"I will make the best of things,
I will enjoy today!"
Start the day with thanksgiving,
Keep a song in your heart.
Thank God for each blessing.
And for giving you a new start!
