This is a " Christmas past" as evidence of the packages under the
tree, we all received a lot of things. Most Americans get a lot of
things, perhaps more than we need!
THINGS
Things get in the way
Of our worship to our Lord.
Things sometimes overwhelms us
And we buy things we can't afford.
Things take the place of love
Within our lives, you see,
We try to replace people
And that should never be!
The more we seem to gather,
The less we seem content,
This is not the life...
For which we were meant.
Things will soon decay
Or be out of date...
People will move on,
Love will not wait.
So, take a look at life
And the things that you chase,
Know that they should never,
Your loved ones replace!
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures
on earth, where moth and rust destroy and
where thieves break in and steal. But store
up for yourselves treasures in heaven.
