Freda's Garden:

Welcome to my Garden:

Ephesians 6: 10-17 tells us to put on "God's Armor,"
in other words our Christian dress, that I describe
in the following poem.

THE CHRISTIAN DRESS

Life on earth is transient,
   here we can never stay.
To the Christian it's just a dressing room,
   for some eternal day.
A place to clothe our souls,
in the house God loaned us for a time,
And the garment we're to wear,
should be a very special kind.
First, is the gown of love...
  no other can compare,
Then the robe of faith,
   that we all should wear.
The shoes of steadfastness,
we should wear upon our feet,
Then the cloak of hope...
should make our garment most complete.
And when our souls are dressed,
The way God thinks they ought to be,
He simply calls us home...
   to live eternally.
