After they arrested Jesus they took him to the house
of Caiaphas, the high priest and before the Sanhedrin.

A SAVIOR'S EYES
Peter warmed himself by the fire
On that fatal night,
Remembering all his friends,
Who had scattered in such a fright.
They had arrested Jesus,
How could this be so?
Did he not come to save his people?
This, he would like to know.
While Peter sought an answer
To this scary plight,
A servant girl called out,
"He was with this man tonight!"
Peter, quickly answered,
"This man I do not know!"
Then he remembered the words of Jesus,
"You will deny me before the cock doth crow!"
Peter wept such bitter tears,
For his weakness and his wrong
As they led Jesus out,
Among the angry throng.
When Peter looked at Jesus,
He saw to his surprise,
Only love and forgiveness,
In his Savior's eyes.
He (Peter) denied it again with an oath;
"I do not know this man!"
