Welcome to my Garden:
After Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, he
angered the religious leaders by throwing the
money changers out of the temple area.
These columns and the rock paved court area
are all that is left of the temple mount. There is
of course, a Mosque over the dome of the rock.
THE MONEY CHANGERS
Jesus watched the crowd
From the temple court.
He watched the money changers,
As they sold the people short.
They bartered and they wrangled
For the price that each would receive.
Jesus yelled, "This is a house of prayer,
You have made it a den of thieves!"
He overturned the tables,
Let the sheep and doves go free,
He drove out the money changers,
Saying, "This should never be!"
Jesus, angered the religious leaders,
Who had set up this little plot,
They now, reinforced their efforts,
And his, very life they sought.
Jesus had set his eyes toward the city.
And he knew that very soon...
The people who had sought his favor,
Would be calling for his doom!
My house will be called a house of prayer for
all nations. But you have made it a den of
robbers. Mark 11:15
